Please read the following important information prior to registering for the Basic Rider Course at RTNJ.  Failure to follow proper procedures may result in exclusion from the class without refund.

1. MVC Permits

You must have a motorcycle permit issued by the MVC to take the BRC.  Your permit  must be valid for the duration of the class.  Permits are valid for 90 days and the expiration date is printed on the front.  Permits can renewed at MVC for an additional 90 days. 

Permits must be valid for practice driving.  In order to have your permit validated for practice driving you must take the written test and eye test at a MVC driver testing center.  

Students with permits out of date or not validated will not be permitted to take the course and no refund will be given.  

This is a State of NJ regulation.

In addition you must bring  the following to class in order to participate

Photo ID

Boots or leather sneakers that cover the ankle

Long pants and a long sleeved shirt or jacket

Full fingered gloves

Eye Protection (glasses, sunglasses or a helmet mounted face shield)

DOT approved helmet, 3/4 or full face preferred.  (We will provide a helmet if you do not have your own)

 

If you cannot make the class you must contact us five or more business days prior to your scheduled course date.  There will be a $50 reschedule fee and there are no refunds.
